Despite selling a lot of tickets, a major source of revenue for PTVL will be advertisement. "Preview Travel (PVTL) Chief Executive Ken Orton expects the company's 1 millionth transaction this month. The online travel agent had 640,000 transactions by the end of the fourth quarter. He said it's tracking 9,000 to 10,000 new users a day and that advertising will represent a bigger percentage of total revenue than the 25 percent most analysts expect." In the e-commerce, companies that make money through advertisement revenue still outnumber companies that make money through real sales on the internet.
