athens, feb. 1, irna --- oil exporting countries lost about dlrs 52
billion while the united states made a profit of dlrs 18 billion last
year due to the steep drop in oil prices.
the figures were given by participants in a symposium on ''writer
and book'' held during the cairo international book fair on sunday.
the participants in a discussion on the book ''collapse of peace''
by writer salah ad-din hafiz called on the rich arab states to invest
in the arab-muslim world instead of europe and the u.s.
the symposium pointed out that in the world banking system dlrs
430 billion of saudi money, dlrs 112 billion of private egyptian
money, dlrs 74 billion of algerian money and dlrs 65 billion of syrian
money were circulating.
