No, that's not a joke. Micromechanical pumps, etc., the size of complex molecules have already been made to work. If you compare the WWII walkie-talkie with today's Motorola "wings" cellphone, you'll get a grip on the scale. Then, consider a common physicians suture being performed by a micromachine inside your heart; then it disolves - with no holes made in you! Beats going "under the knife", aye!
