More evidence that Windows 2000 is in big Big BIG trouble:

Windows 98: Not a lame duck after all?
Just think about the implications of that headline, and what
that tells you about the Windows 2000 effort.

zdnet.com

Some choice quotes:

Some testers have reported that Microsoft has had difficulties porting Windows 9x features, such as Plug and Play, to the NT kernel and is facing a number of incompatibilities with current Windows applications.

...

"At one point, every Windows developer was put on NT 5.0 [now known as Windows 2000]," said one developer, who requested anonymity. "Almost all of Microsoft's developers are focused on getting Beta 3 [of Windows 2000] out the door."

There's an old programming axiom (Brook's law):
Adding manpower to a late software project just makes it later.

Enjoy your stock rise, but don't expect any new products to generate meaningful revenues in the next year.

OK, Downsouth and Tech2, how about an opinion? With 15 days to earnings, I think Dell is going to move even more. I will leave my Cisco stake alone, and move some funds from either Msft and/or AOL, to Dell today. Assume you agreed with me. Would you sell some Msft, AOL, or both, to move to Dell? My inclination is to move it out of AOL.
