Larry Ellison of Oracle announces a deal with Dell to have a internet based database pre-installed. In the same story he suggests MSFT be split in two identical companies!!

I know this is good announcement for Oracle but why is he so publically paranoid about Microsoft. Why are IBM, Oracle, AOL, Netscape, Novell so afraid that they make so many public statements?

I intrepet it as MSFT making major inroads into their business.
It looks like Microsoft will rule in the end!!!

BTW-These kinds of statements also help Microsoft't case anyways. It shows how competitive this business is.

You said exactly the same thing about Win 98 about 100 points ago.
The results will be the same, also.

Tell me how much revenue is attributable to Microsoft selling Windows 98 instead of Windows 95---only the upgrades. So how many upgrades did they sell and at what average price?
