EMC makes a $5 million dollar payment in January and a $2 million payment in February. They will get these payments for two years in 2000 and 2001. Your are correct on the older patents. I believe MTI has received 2-3 patents since the license deal and they also did not license certain newer ones as well. MTI beat the estimates, analysts raised estimates, gross margins were up from 30% to 33% (10% higher that the disk drive companies!). 6700 on schedule and approximately 15% of their business was from ISP's. The worst is over for them I believe, they suffered from MYLX's problems and now they (mylx)have turned the corner and this is good for MTI also.
