Thread,

I've been on vacation for 10 days and 6 to go. Wife loves it and I'm getting really bored with it. Ready to get back to work. Don't know how you retired people stand it.

Some ramblings-
NTAIF to announce Feb 8. Projections are for $1.24 this year, a little more than Deswell has made in 6 months. Prices: NTAIF 11.25, DSWLF 12.125. I realize that NTAIF is selling a couple of dollars under book and Deswell about 25% over, but I don't know if I would trust the NTAIF numbers. Will they report the Albatronics at the $10M or at the current value of the company- a negative number? I'll bet $10M.

We now have the yen at 112-113 as I write this, varying between 110 and 116. This is a higher value for the yen than it was when the 'crisis' started = removes the cost advantage for Deswell's Japanese competitors. Other currencies in the region also have risen.

HK and other Asian banks having problems and tightening credit as projected on the thread earlier. Bankruptcies escalating. This could be reducing Deswell's competition or at least making it more difficult for them as the banks apply pressure.

China passing new policies that make it better for exporters. New addition to China's constitution to insure the legal rights of privately owned companies is a major decision for companies operating in China.

IMO -It all seems to be coming together.

FWIW,
Ron
