I am trying to beat this damn computerized Scrabble. ^%*@!#$%%

The computer knows a lot more words than either one of us.

Here, this will help you get to sleep:

February 1999

Dear Reseller,

As a subscriber to Computer Reseller News, VAR Business, or Computer Retail Week, you rely on us for the computer industry news that you need to run your reseller business. You have been chosen from a select group of resellers to participate in the Channel Information Services Reseller Advisory Panel. The panel is the place for important questions facing VARs, retailers, consultants, integrators, service shops, ISPs and a variety of other companies in the $135 billion indirect sales channel.

The panel is a members only community of resellers who in exchange for providing their opinions earn the right to see their results aggregated among all other resellers on the panel. In addition, because the findings of the panel are projectable to the total 125,000 industry wide reseller companies, you leverage your investment of time to reveal industry wide research. (Individual responses will be kept in strict confidence and will only be used in combination with those of other panel members.) When you become a member of the reseller panel community, you gain access to research findings published in a password protected area on the CIS Reseller Advisory site.

To join the panel is simple. Fill out the web-based profiler at :

survey.com

Use the your email address to gain entry. Vital reseller data -such as products/vendors sold, services provided, distribution programs involved in, vertical markets sold to, and gross sales-will be collected. We think you will find the questions interesting and easy to answer. To thank you for your participation, upon completion of the profile, you will be automatically entered into a prize drawing. There will be two prize drawings --each an American Express $1000 Gift Certificate.

To ensure the timeliness of the information, may we hear from you in the next week?

Thank you very much for your valuable help.

Sincerely,

Ted Stevens
CIS Panel Director, CMP Media

Low volume on a miniscule-down day is heart warming ==> all weak-heart sellers are gone and holders don't want to let themselves sucked-in again by MMs, imho!

One has to really wonder though sometimes, about the competency of their Press guy ... three flashes in a day and he can't keep this baby's erect, monotonically pointed in the right direction, at list for the big day! :-) so much vascillation! Many small fry weak hands who let this go ... they might be sorry in just couple of weeks when they may realize later what an incredible opportunity just passed by! As they say, its never easy! All huge orders in last several days were buys! If they would just understand the significance of this! Oh well, to each - his own!

Disclaimer: "I'm telling you my man, one more snaffu in press releases like this, and the man is a gonner imho" :-)
