Understand why reverse split might have been premature earlier, Hal.

And by certain Wall Street conventions, it's still premature. You kinda want to tie it into a nice earnings report so that it stands on some fundamentals. (Of course, if you have great fundamentals, you don't need a reverse split, right?)

Situation now is seductive, though. Barring major "wins" of traditional business, reported earnings will inevitably be deferred while the Web initiative builds out. Could take a year or more. But the Web strategy itself is sufficiently bold to announce the "New Ampex," and this story supports the reverse split.

Ed B. unlikely to do it, I guess. But then, he didn't advertise on the Super Bowl, either. I would do both!
