Jake0302:<why is the price/volume so important on these two days> Because it is most likely not really related to the upcoming earnings announcement. There is most likely something else going on. This is why I am a fanatic about paying attention to real time price actions. Many times, one can actually ignore the regular "outside" news sources. Moves like yesterday, speak for themselves. And again, this makes some mild trading very profitable. I do not "day trade". But I profit from overly rapid rises, by creating liquidity at or near the top of the run. And then, in the oposity direction, when the stock "artificially" drops "too fast", I have the liquidity to buy heavily at the artificially lower price. This is extremely profitable, and if you are trying to build your position rapidly, more than pays for the extra taxes incurred.
