yeah, and its down 2 pts. on sing. this am. sim can't be that stupid. it must be a plan to drive price down to either buy for himself or to shake the tree to pick up shares in buy back for the co. this is an asian stock and intrigue abounds. the nasdaq won't interfere and creaf gets no press on cnbc. lets face it as long as sim controls the co. he will do as he pleases. if you don't like it hit the road or sue him. his co. makes a profit and pays a dividend. a law suit seems unlikely to win. ps. i still think dennis is a day trader and likes to trash the stock to pick up shares for trading. i day trade this stock also so " go dennis", but i do like the stock. for sure if it falls 2 more this am. capt. rocky

Good post Fred. I feel the same way. But what really ticks me off is this. If they had had no CC, the stock would NOT have sold off anywhere near what it did, maybe not at all. The quarter was NOT that bad and there was NO reason to believe so. Look at the posts right after the report. NO ONE was really that downbeat. If fact most were positive. But for example check out this post by Sun Tzu on the TDFX thread.

Message 7561083

He had gone short betting on a miss and thought HE was going to take a bath. But in the very next post, a responder basically said wait for the CC, they could still screw it up.

Message 7561126

And that is EXACTLY what happened. CREAF management literally screwed EVERY shareholder who was giving THEM the benefit of the doubt and waiting to see the earnings. And they literally rewarded everyone who sold and/or went short ahead of the earnings. And they did it deliberately and cold-bloodedly because they couldn't have been naive not enough to know the street response. They had ALREADY done the same thing just last June.

You and I had NO reason to feel the quarter was bad or that the next quarter would be bad, and they provided no warning. So we were trusting them to treat us decently. But instead they stabbed us in the heart again. This is what CREAF management thinks of its shareholders. So heartbreaking.

Dennis

Great post Fred.
As a long term believer in this stock, I'd not dump it now though. However, everything you've said rings true.. and it really hurts to see how the PR has been so poorly managed.
Having been at the presentation on Saturday post the results brief in Singapore, it was clear Sim really really believed in his vision..

HOWEVER, his rather poorly chosen words kinda put off many.

The poor earnings guidance were based on faulty assumptions of a still steady LatAm and sufficient DVD ROM chips and continued sellthrough of 3dFx cards. All three hitting in one quarter caused the problem. Is there any excuse for this ? Frankly, they need to be more cautious on extrapolating earnings from now on. Maybe they should just stick to quarterly outlooks and not provide numeric guides beyond their own radar screen. Let the market figure this out. At least they won't be accused of lying.

We'll see. Perhaps Creative can indeed bring someone in to help ... yet.
