You shouldn't need a screwdriver as Fred suggests.

Ask the salesperson how easy is it to upgrade. They put a door on it so it should be real easy for him to demonstrate that feature to you.

What is better about DVD-Video playback from Apple?

1) Apple DVD systems use hardware to decode the DVD video and audio so that you get great video performance (full-motion, full-screen video).
2) Apple DVD systems are QuickTime-based so you get great compatibility with a wide range of DVD-video titles.
3) The Apple DVD Player software works like you would expect. It's interface is different, simple and elegant, yet powerful and intuitive.
4) DVD support is built in to the Mac OS (starting with Mac OS 8.1) so that DVD discs behave just as the user expects. They mount on the desktop, allow normal user interaction, and best of all it just works.

Can I use the PC Card to decode MPEG-2 video streams in other applications?
The DVD solution we provide is for DVD-Video disc playback only.

Hmm, sounds like no PES support and that stinks of Cube...
