let me tell you guys my horror story this morning
i'm on suretrade
on friday i placed an order for 1000 shares at 8
it was a market order
then i tried to cancel it
did'nt think the cancel would work
sure enough the execution page came back "order cancelled"
checked my executions page and positions and
didn't own it . . .

THEN . . . HAHAHA (evil laugh)
come monday
everything fine in the morning
go to work . . .
come back online before closing bell
and . . .
HAHAHA
1000 shares in execution page for 8
i check the stock
its below 6

:(
i called suretrade and they said a market order is executed in seconds. he could'nt explain the "order cancelled" or why the delay in the execution screen . . . sold at 5 7/8

the moral to my story
learn from my mistakes people
never cancel market orders
never use suretrade

thanks, K 28e. Most of the time, in the middle of furious trading activities, I rely heavily on my intuition. Early this afternoon when LA and I were looking at NTFY when it was around 5 1/2 to 5 3/4. I took a look at the intraday chart and briefly glanced through the story, but what convinced me the most was the ticker similarity with another one of our very favorite stocks, NTXY. I jumped in NTFY at that area (mostly 5 5/8) before doing more research.

About 15 minutes later, I think the stock was still range bound around that area, but I finally had a chance to take a brief look at the tape, level 2,3 and the ECN books. I like what I saw but felt a little embarrassed that I had done practically no dds on it prior to taking a sizable position <ggg>
