Actually with my family disorder it is the tryglycerides which cause
the problem. Proper diet and weight pretty much knock down the
cholesterol (which for me can spike up and down like a techstock, depending on what I ate 24 hrs ago), but the triglycerides never
seem to get within normal: thus the lopid, which works for my
two brothers too.

But I will ask my doctor about Glucophage. Actually my Dad is doing
very well cariovascular wise (even though he has had triglyceride readings around 700 !). Actually he has developed fairly serious
stomach and intestinal problems, probably as a result of his
low fat diet and the cholesterol lowering drugs !!
You can't win, you know.
