Schiavo; ie: PKD .... I like that play One thing I'll never forget about PKD; and to me- this is the ''intangiable'' factor that is the ''tie breaker'' when ever I am faced with a ''gut vs. brain'' question. ie: your PKD convert play; the math washes fine - the ''brain''can't poke any holes in the logic; but the ''gut'' says there has to be a reason for the pricing, PKD is a land based driller etc. Well; what I will ALL WAYS remember about PKD is after listening to a few Conference Calls the past year or so; Analysts only showed what I call ''Cal Ripken-gamer'' respect towards 2 people/companies in the oilpatch; that is 'ole Plamer of RDC (note how his stock popped & stayed up when this 'ole Drill Sgt appeared on CNBC showing his grit) also; PKD gets this old world/trench warfare type of respect. What that tells me; is when the going gets tough - these 2 companies will be among the standing when all the smoke clears. I think PKD got brought to it's senses in the SESI merger. I like PKD & your convert play here. I think PKD knows what it has to do and will do it; they'll be here when the smoke clears... $16 in 2004 doesn't look to be too high a bar to me as well - they have some outstanding Intnl presence & respect. Caspian/Kazaksthan plays will be cooking by then & PKD has early entre to Russia & that region... my .02 cents fwiw... good luck; PS; are you holding tech stocks here; how can people not take profits here ? I guess I'll never be a good momenteum investor - I all ways sell too early <VBG> ; I wish I still was holding my VTSS & PMCS,,,,damn. Maybe I'll buy RMBS on a dip...
