Millions of end users will improve their productivity with Compaq's enhanced Microsoft Exchange environment. Currently, Compaq is the No. 1 systems integrator of Microsoft Exchange, and 60% of Microsoft Exchange solutions run on Compaq servers. According to the latest report from Electronic Mail and Messaging Systems (EMMS), Exchange Server is the leading messaging and collaboration server on the market.

Dave Malcolm, Group Product Manager for Microsoft Exchange Server, said, "Compaq has proven over the years that it can lead the market with innovative solutions that enrich industry-standard technologies. The Enterprise Suite for Microsoft Exchange is yet another proof point. These innovative solutions add great functionality to Exchange, and demonstrate how fast and how far Exchange and Windows NT are moving into the enterprise."

Integrated Suite of Value-Added Capabilities

Completely integrated with Microsoft Exchange, the suite comprises four components including two brand new products added to Compaq's two existing offerings. All four products are available individually.

Targeted Information Distribution. Compaq Correspondence Manager efficiently distributes need-to-know information to select groups of employees or customers. The software automatically creates distribution lists based on sender criteria, and enables administrators to manage mass mailings to avoid bottlenecks, maintain current distribution lists, and keep formal corporate records. Such automation reduces direct mail costs by minimizing print costs, postage, and list management. Correspondence Manager is available now and is priced at $750 for the server, $5 per recipient.

Faster Routing and Approvals. Compaq Approval Expeditor improves enterprise-wide operational efficiencies by automating administrative routings and approvals. It controls business activities currently being handled via paper-based forms such as time cards, purchase orders, and expense reports. It can also apply control to activities currently being handled via e-mail, such as phone activation requests. Approval Expeditor will be available in the Spring, priced at $1495 for the server with 5 clients, and $99 - $49 for additional clients.

Collaborative Work and Document Management. Compaq Work Expeditor integrates document management, workflow, security framework, and a solution-building capability into Microsoft Exchange. Using the Microsoft Outlook user interface and standard Microsoft development tools for customization, it improves time to solution by managing document-intensive work and maximizing information flow. Work Expeditor facilitates dynamic team collaboration, provides enhanced security and strict data integrity and ensures secure document creation and management. Work Expeditor is available now and is priced at $2,950 for a server license. Clients range from $75- $199 depending on volume.

Centralized Archival/Retrieval. Compaq's field-proven Enterprise Vault product provides a centralized, manageable repository for the archival and retrieval of aging email messages. Enterprise Vault unclogs front-line messaging servers and increases storage management efficiency. Enterprise Vault also enables IT managers in many industries, particularly financial services, to meet legal document retention mandates. Enterprise Vault is available now with pricing ranging from $325 - $35,000 for a server license depending on capacity and $43 - $15 per client.

As Microsoft's only designated Prime Integrator for Windows NT, Compaq is providing complete life-cycle services for the Enterprise Suite for Microsoft Exchange as part of its award winning set of services for messaging and collaboration.
