Why does there need to be a reason? The only reason is that interest rates are rising in Japan and that puts disintermediational pressure on short rates here. However, the FED is doing coupon passes to keep them from rising, but if GNP is going to grow at 8% this year, FED can't keep it up. That means short rates will rise and the institutions will show you just how much they believe in the long term. Since this has some truth, the believers are starting the selling early. Internets are pricey stocks and bids got pulled. A little selling discovers air below.
