<<Everything is planned for down the road and they have the nasty habit of pushing back completion dates!>>

I don't think that we are watching the same company here. THQ has had an unbelievably good history of meeting completion dates. The only "missed" completion date that I can think of is the intentional movement of Revenge to the 4th quarter after WCW/NWO was added to the Nintendo Player's Choice lineup in the 3rd quarter. And announced well in advance, I might add. Contrast that to MWY, AKLM, EIDSY and others where it's anyone's guess when the games will actually release.

THQ will likely earn over half their 1998 income in the first 3 quarters of 1998. This is highly unusual for a video game maker as many of the others report losses in every quarter except for Christmas. This is also very consistent with most retail stores out there who report large 4th quarter profits due to the Christmas holiday.

BF has stated that the video game business is getting to be more and more like the movie business where you must carefully plan releases to coincide with holidays, big weekends, etc. I give kudos to them for realizing this and NOT releasing games at poor times when all they would do is flop.

THQ will never have 4 quarters of even profits as long as they are a video game company. I personally don't worry about it. Seems a bit suspect to me to want THQ to diversify just so you can show $.50 a quarter, rather than $.35 in three quarters and $.95 in the other. That is, if you could still be as profitable with diversified businesses outside your main competency.

The problem with THQ stock is that many of the investors are either short, or impatient longs. Meanwhile the company continues to do fantastically, as do the shareholders who ride the waves of elation and hysteria.
