As half the House Democratic caucus stood before the White House to rally around the President after the impeachment vote, AL GORE called Clinton one of our greatest presidents, and nobody demurred. Those who have tried to distance the party from the President are continually undermined by those who insist on extolling the man, and, at the end of the day, unless the Senate Democrats vote the facts (at a minimum), the fate of the party is to hang with Clinton. That, my friend, was the strategy in the House: no censure, no easy outs.
