I read the full US Patent today (#5,130,792) which is available free of charge on the US Patent Office web site! Very, very broad coverage indeed! This patent covers the use by any party of a system where telephone or fiber optic lines are used to download compressed video signals at a remote location from a central server and uncompress at that remote location! Mr. Molina advised me today that while he knows of infringments and would like to obtain lisencing revenue from these sites this will not be addressed until next month at the earliest. His current emphasis is upon obtaining contractual rights to some new technology and signing contracts to provide digitalization services in order to generate ongoing revenue in support of their long term plans. My feeling is that news is not that far away and will be positive both in the short term and for the long term prospects of this company. Numbers are not available concerning sales volume and projected profits at this time since the company has only recently taken the necessary steps to commercialize their technology and experience. Regarding Metronet, this is a major player in the South-Western Ontario fiber optic cable business. Trades on Toronto MNC.B at above $50 share. This channel relationship with USVO is quite recent but Mr. Molina indicated that a number of ongoing sales discussions are going on with existing customers of Metronet and the first sale may be closed within a short time frame. I am still waiting for additional information on USVO and their products and services but remain optimistic and in truth hope that news and share price increases do not get out before I am able to establish a larger position.
