Inktomi Adds Intel Veteran to Board of Directors; Frank Gill brings seasoned technology perspective to Inktomi

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 1999--Inktomi
Corporation today announced the addition of a prominent industry
executive and visionary to its Board of Directors. Frank Gill, a
23-year veteran of Intel Corp. and former executive vice president
brings valuable insight and experience to Inktomi as the company moves
ahead to becoming core to the Internet infrastructure.
"We are delighted that Frank accepted our invitation to join
Inktomi's Board of Directors," said David Peterschmidt, chairman,
president and chief executive officer. "Frank's achievements in the
industry and comprehensive experience in sales and marketing, product
development, and manufacturing operations will be a great asset to
Inktomi."
Throughout his 23 years at Intel Corporation, Mr. Gill held a
variety of positions and most recently was executive vice president,
before his retirement in June 1998. In the preceding 21 years, Mr.
Gill contributed significantly to Intel's business, and was appointed
general manager of Intel's newly created Internet and Communications
Group in 1995.
Inktomi's Board of Directors includes John Porter, a co-founder
and director of WorldCom, Fred Harman, partner, Oak Investments, and
Alan Shugart, founder, Seagate Technology.
