Paul,

While the media is important to a Y2K sell off, I think that there may be some real substance to the concerns. I'm not telling you anything that you probably don't know, but, if the world outside the US goes financially dysfunctional, the US market will as well and perhaps for most of the year 2000. We lost 20% on the Dow last Oct. because of a few countries in SE Asia. I can't image it not being worse if the US multinationals need to shut down trade with all but the G7 nations because the banks in the rest of the countries don't work.

The issue is how long will it take for the fear to be discounted. September is a good time to reevaluate the Japanese bargains.
