When the internet bubble bursts Bid.com will trade below a buck. Time to take a short stab at this one.

Doug,

I prepare the financial statements for a smaller, private company, with less complicated transactions (I'm positive) and it usually takes me three to four weeks before the accountant even looks at it to make year-end adjustments. The accountant spends 3-4 days here with me to finalize the statements before it goes to management to approve.

BII released within 30 days last time

I am not sure if you are referring to 1997 4Q results when you say within 30 days, but I don't see how they could release it that fast.

I also used to work for the Audit Department of one of the Big 4 accounting firms, and I know the Audit process also takes approx. 2 weeks, depending on the nature of the books. Also, as Dec 31 is a mandatory year-end for public companies, accounting firms find themselves very, very overworked at this time of year.

This is just my argument remember, I haven't forgotten you are a forensic accountant and have a different opinion based on YOUR experience.

Denise.

Doug,

I mentioned the same thing in my post # 8466. Where are these numbers? I hope they come out within the next week or so so that we can get a true picture of what is going on with BII. All these lousy PR's look like a stalling tactic to divert the market's attention away from what is really important. THE NUMBERS!!

To those that think we are looking at fundamentals, you are wrong. There are really no fundamentals to take into account in this sector at all, but BII will not make the NASDAQ if these "numbers" fail to meet expectations. There may even be an expectation that they should beat analysts targets, even by a modest amount to make up for the past six quarters???? People should remember that BII is still trading on a Canadian exchange with very different expectations of corporate performance than down south. If things fall apart on the financials, then this stock will also find itself "going south" and I don't mean the USA either!

Dougie, exactly when did BII release 4th quarter last year? Could you point me to a link?
