Convergys Corporation Appoints Claudia Schaefer to Vice President, Legal Business Wire - February 03, 1999 11:29 CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 1999--Convergys Corporation announces the appointment of Claudia Schaefer to Vice President - Legal. In her new role, Ms. Schaefer will head the team that handles legal affairs on behalf of more than 25,000 Convergys Customer Management Group employees throughout the United States, in Canada, and in Europe. She will report to William D. Baskett III, General Counsel of Convergys. In her new role, Ms. Schaefer is responsible for the protection and enforcement of the company's rights, compliance with the law on a company-wide basis, and promulgation and maintenance of programs designed to insure employee participation in a legal and ethical environment. Ms. Schaefer joined Convergys in 1996 and before this appointment served as Senior Director of Legal where she handled client contract negotiation and human resources inquiries. Prior to employment with Convergys, she served as a partner with the Cincinnati-based law firm of Frost and Jacobs where her responsibilities included commercial and general litigation. In 1983, Ms. Schaefer graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Sociology. She received her law degree from the University of Southern California in 1986. As an active member in the Cincinnati community, she serves on the boards of two alcohol recovery programs, First Step Home and Kids Helping Kids.
