Terrence,
With Heclas exemplary safety record I suspected they were being a stickler, as well they should be, in complying with Federal mining laws. A secondary escape way is mandatory. THANKS so MUCH for calling, as my work load the last two days would not allow for a call and it is reassuring to have the news from IR.
I did have a few minutes on a hurried lunch break to place a limit order for more HL at 3 1/2 which was satisfactorily filled at the days low.
I never pray for financial guidance, as that is man's work to do, but I believe our investment shall ultimately prove most prudent, if not providential or even, if I dare say, prescient <VBG>.

All the best my friend,

Roebear

Terrence,
The stock is finally moving, I have doubled my position again this am.
I talked to Vicki this morning, the emergency shaft is being worked on and going according to plan as you mentioned. Wouldn't tell me when it reopens except today or Friday as in this week.
She did tell me that workers are being called back on the job today, which means of course that the company is pretty confident that those workers would have some work.....though she would not spell that out. Good enough for me.
Silver is now 569.5, as of 15 min ago anyway, we have broken through an important resistance area.
Like I said before, I am expecting a double bounce on HL, silver price and news effect. Also the stock price started moving almost as soon as I hung up the phone, which means maybe my news is "hot off the press".
BTW, the ground slough in the shaft did not do much damage to the shaft it was the guides and dividers that needed repaired, as you stated. It is a vertical shaft so with the means of conveyance being interrupted it was out of service till repaired. Please note I am using the "past tense" here on my own interpretation
Disclaimer: Also note, while I have attempted to faithfully render the high points of my conversation with IR, my reporting may be somewhat effected by my holdings in this stock and my current glee
with the POS. Plus possibly the fact that I went to Penn State <VBG>.

Terrence,
Spoke to Vicki again today, the repairs to the emergency exit shaft were not completed Friday and are now expected to be completed on Monday.
HL price action was slightly disappointing today, but so were most other silver stocks.
I would suspect most folks are expecting this to be another flash in the pan for silver. It's only natural after a bear market in PM's and probably wrong too. There are to many things in silvers favor this year, I think it will take a breather and then resume its climb.
Nevertheless I took half profits today, since I was in an extended position. Will buy that half back if it looks promising though, you know me, trader at heart.
