tip,

<<Gordon Casey, director of investor
relations at Intel, told a NationsBanc Montgomery Securities technology
conference. ''Certainly consumer demand for PCs remains very strong. We
are on track.''>>

From this, PC unit demand is strong, driven by a strong consumer market ... nothing on the business market, or on the processor mix, though.

Peter

dang it, I'm startin' to sound like Earlie! <g>

Tippet:
Note that his nibs said "consumer demand remains strong"

Hmmm,....
- no comments about corporate sector
- strong as in ???????
- guidance still negative due to "seasonal factors",....see earlier post that explores the remarkably short duration of this seasonality (g)

If the current consumer demand is strong, heaven help us when it turns down. The gentleman may have uttered one of those same things that MU is reputed to have done. (g)

Best, Earlie

Tip, Did you notice the key spin, "consumer demand." No mention of the hundreds of thousands of unsold business boxes. <G>
