Slider, I don't disagree that we may see a nice rally this month, but I'm not seeing the same track record for the Bollinger Bands (assume you're using 20 days, 2 std dev.).

In November, for example, the lower band was reached with the OSX in the high 50's, but the sell-off continued for another 10 or so OSX points. There was even a bounce off the BB back to 60 before the sell-off continued. I don't know whether history will repeat itself. This is just a cautionary note about relying too heavily on one indicator.

Another issue is whether we are now seeing two different markets for the OS stocks -- the leaders and the dogs -- and whether this will continue. The buyers in this market seem to have a tendency for piling into the most popular issues, sometimes to the exclusion of all else. And look at the last run in OS. The more popular names continued to run (SLB, RIG, etc.) after many others had run out of steam.

As usual, it seems I have more questions than answers. I have no idea where we go tomorrow. I'm still favoring the list from my post this morning, though.
