DIRECTV INTRODUCES ITS FIRST NATIONAL INTERACTIVE TV SERVICE
Introducing a new generation of advanced digital DIRECTV System receivers
will be our first interactive TV service, powered by Wink Communications.
The Wink Enhanced Broadcasting service allows consumers to receive high
resolution interactive-enhanced broadcasts free of charge on many of the
channels offered by DIRECTV, as well as Wink-enabled virtual channels. Wink
technology provides pop-up graphics and text information that will
complement DIRECTV programming with supplemental data on sports, weather,
documentaries and other programs. Viewers of certain channels will also be
able to request additional information such as local weather forecasts and
game scores by using the remote control of a Wink-enabled DIRECTV System.
Look for Wink-enabled DIRECTV System receivers in the third quarter of 1999.

Why should Acer buy chips from Cube, which is now an Acer settop box competitor?
