Ten,

Paul Fiondella's arguments make a great deal of sense. The idea of a safely escrowed public key/digital signature, which is used only at the users discretion, is a far cry from the scheme implemented in PIII.

But that won't happen any time soon either.

It is hard for me to understand why you would call him "stupid".

Actually, he's a perfect candidate for why OTHERS might want the CPU ID# function turned-on. His postings are so conflicting and erratic that there MUST be multiple people all posting under the same name.

Think about it. All you would need is to distribute your SI user name and password to a bunch of people in order to enable this kind of random self-contradicting posting behavior.

At least with the ID# identifying which machine the post came from, we'd have a chance at knowing if it was machine #1, 2, 3...n that was behind a given post. That would help us group the mails into the correct stream of thought. Who knows, some of these posts might even approach logic if they were properly sorted/grouped.

jh

Tenchusatsu - Re: " I think Mr. Fiondella will be very successful in the world of politics, especially the Beltway variety."

No - Fiondella, true to form - is ALREADY A FAILURE at politics.

He received only 1% of the vote in a Long Island town when running for some local office:
