yeah.

You think the Teamster penson fund was tempting....

Can you imagine the Gephardts of the World.... OK MSFT, we'll continue to invest SS dollars into your company as long as you make Windows freeware.... OK United Airlines, you have to pay domestic partners benefits in all countries you operate in otherwise we don't invest SS dollars in your stock....

Give me a break. Managed is code for something else.

CALPERS (Calif Public Employee Pension System) is large enough that they are already tossing their weight around. CA has only 1/10th the economy of the US.

I'm all in favor of giving it to the individuals in a ROTH type of deal where some of the matching comes from SS payments. Of course, those silly enough to believe the Government won't ever tax their Roth conversions..... just look at Social Security.

Expecting an ex Goldman Sachs honcho to suggest indexing
government monies is expecting way too much. Rubin is smart
enough to know he cannot beat the Wilshire 5000 by
appointing an independent committee to oversee management
of these monies, but he is in the hip pocket of the
Wall Street powerhouses and therefore cannot tell the
truth, which is the Wilshire 5000 is the only way to go
with these monies period.
