The K6-3 was due in the second half of 1998 - late - ain't it ?

It depends on your definition of "1998". Are you talking about the Intel "1998", or the AMD/Cyrix "1998"? I think that K6-3 is due out in the same "1998" as MXi, although a few more delays in MXi may force further redefinition of "1998".

That attitude ('people will buy our product no matter what the competition offers') is what brought about IBM's downfall in the late 80's, early 90's.
