Regis, good points. How does Cisco address leapfrogging? Would they buy MRVC? If they don't, someone else will...

Listwin mentioned that DWDM is becoming commoditized and is being reduced into chipsets. That would lead me to believe that they will integrate this technology onto existing products - where it makes sense. Until then they will continue to partner with DWDM manufacturers.

Sounds like the optical advantage isn't much of one. If what Don is saying is what he really believes then I don't think CSCO will be buying anyone in the DWDM space..
