Ingram and Symantec are interesting.

IM (Ingram Micro) - the biggest and best technology distributor, by far, which had its first minor hiccup this past quarter.

I'd call Dell the best distributor and they still haven't had any hiccups. From a value standpoint, though, Ingram is a much better deal, especially after the drop today. According to Computer Reseller News, some of Ingram's customers are also have a tough time figuring out the difference between Ingram and Dell. The article is Systems Builders Concerned Over Ingram Micro's Plans at crn.com.

Network Associates was a fairly big and profitable company before the merger, so I wouldn't call it comparable with Symantec. Creative and Symantec seem to have done an equally poor job of increasing shareholder value the last 50 months, judging by stock price appreciation. I'll check out the Symantec thread and see if there are reasons why that might change in the future.
