Gary,

>> that these are exclusive deals. <<

Finally, we can move on. I'm happy you can admit that Alcatel won the Ameritech DSLAM business!!! Provide a sinlge link that indicates that Cisco is involved with Ameritech and SBC for DSLAM deployments.

>> As for Microsoft... if you believe Microsoft is working with only GTE and Fujitsu then you are more naive than I. <<

MSFT is working with everyone. I claimed that MSTF is working with GTE on ADSL. I never said it was exclusive. 1,000 MSFT employees using the GTE/ORTCF/Fujitus gear, hopefully we can move on.

I take it we can move past the Alcatel DSLAM wins {Ameritech, SBC, Bell Atlantic, PacBel, BellSouth, Bell Canada}. I wish I didn't have to repeat myself, but you questioned the Ameritech Alcatel contract.

>> I notice you couldn't help but post that weak Hankin report. <<

I couldn't help but notice you still haven't provided a single link to support your theory on Cisco being #1 in DSL. Please provide that link so we can read it.

>> Yes, if there were 140M lines installed I could give you better publicly released data. <<<

Please take your time on reading this ... Alcatel has won ACCESS, ACCESS , ACCESS, ACCESS to 140 million North American lines. Do you understand the difference between "ACCESS" and "Deployed LINES"? Do I have to repeat this 20 more time for you?

>> bill c. you are well informed on the things you know..but not too well informed from a more global view.<<<

What? I'm well informed on the things I know, but not too well informed from a more global view? Should we talk about the Alcatel DSLAM wins in the AP and Euro regions?

>> The data I have, unfortunately...and it does pain me tremendously, is not available.... <<

I have data which isn't available, but I can find one or two links to support my theory.

Alcatel in the leader in ADSL and Pairgain is the leader in HDSL. Do you still want to debate this initial theory or not. Don't reply if you want to drop the issue... unti later
