The lowest eBay traded for publicly on opening day was the mid-40's (other than the IPO price of $25.)


I remember the day well. You're right, $45-$55 was the first day range. But, the IPO price was $18. I think e-Trade was selling 100 share lots to pre-registered customers for $18, but very few even got in on the 100 shares lots. Their entire allotment was sold, 100 shares to each person, before noon of the day they announced (which was on a Friday, a couple of weeks before IPO, I believe).

I wonder if anyone on this thread are still holding any of those 100 share allotments?
