And the initial geometry calculations, including lighting and transformations, should be done by whom?

Clearly these should be done by an onboard geometry engine. Every major graphics vendor either has, or is working on, a geometry engine. According to Paul, Intel has a geometry engine in the works too.

Anybody feel that the effective date of the Intel split(April 12) and it's proximity to date of earnings release, show a HUGE confidence by Intel for very good Q1 numbers or just a coincidence???...M
