Although Jews are overwhelmingly Democrat, Orthodox Jews (like Feder) tend to be Republican. Over 70% of Orthodox Jewish voters voters voted for Reagan. (More among Hasidic voters, except that most Hasidim don't vote). The social issues are non-denominational.
