rumors don't start off unless there's something backing them. take ASND buyout rumor by LU for example. a year and half ago this rumor started. people dismissed it, and look at what happened! at that time, a year and half ago, posts on the ASND or LU boards said LU is crazy to pay ASND $40 a share! and look at what LU end up paying! almost $90 a share! right before XCIT being bought out, XCIT volume surged and stock moved up on several generally down days for DOW/NAS, bucking the trend. same thing happened to GCTY before the buyout by YHOO. and currently PTVL has been surging on increasingly large volume- look at today, bucking the trend and has been up for 4 days in a roll. there are people always know ahead of the general public. I normally do not believe in them but the current volume surge in PTVL does indicate something of a buyout is coming.
