John seemed modest on the CNBC call tonight. Cisco is such a dominant player in the internet revolution that it should power itself up to new heights. Lucent was not hammered and the field is big enough for both these giants. I advise anyone who doesn't have both of these stocks in their portfolios to do so now. I still hold to my theory that CSCO will split 2:1 before EAster after getting to 135. By the way the announcers felt that the stock was down after hours because it did not report a split.....JUST WAIT

Perhaps my use of the word "slam" was an interjection of my own inference. What JC said was that there were 5 elements of a good merger and that the LU/ASCND deal missed them all. He did say they were a major competitive concern, as well.
