Gary, I never said any of the contracts where exclusive. Just that Alcatel has won ACCESS to a large percentage of the North American market with forward pricing. I still claim that Alcatel has won ACCESS to over 50% of the North American lines. I've provided a link that supports my theory, please provide one that indicates you percentage theory. Cisco isn't going to beat Alcatel on price, so how are they going to become part of the BellSouth, Ameritech, SBC, Bell Canada, PacBel and Bell Altantic DSLAM deployments? I haven't even talked about the Cisco/Alcatel chip agreement. Did you know that Cisco is going to use the Alcatel DMT chip? I will provide a link if you want one. So Alcatel is going to sell their chip to Cisco {at a profit} and Cisco has to compete against Alcatel for the Central Office DSLAM. How is Cisco going to compete against Alcatel in the Central Office? What is Cisco's solution for those Digital Loop Carriers. Alcatel purchased DSC and their 7+ million Litespan access lines. >> If Alacatel wants to give away DSLAMs for trials and lab testing and claim to be #1, then fine. << Completely untrue!! These DSLAM are deployed at BellSouth, Ameritech, etc. You are wrong by indicating that Alcatel's DSLAM is only for testing and trialing. Alcatel has more ADSL lines install then Cisco. >> YOu found one link that supports your theories and the data there has already been shown to be suspect. What is your other link? << Before you start questioning my links, provide ONE link to support your "Cisco #1" theory. In fact, provide a link that indicates that Alcatel isn't the #1 vendor in ADSL. The only thing that has been shown to be suspect is your lack of detail and supporting information. PS. Should we start talking about the non-exclusive contract with USWest. Again, what is Cisco's solution for those Digital Loop Carriers?
