Merced is about 2-3 years late

But what it lacks in schedule, it makes up for in size and power consumption.

Remember the Power PC 615? It was supposed to execute x86 and Power PC natively. Unfortunately IBM couldn't find a storage facility large enough for it in Burlington, and they decided to trade it in for a high powered x86 core from STM.
