Jack, you should continue to post - period. I've enjoyed your posts. The fact that others disagree with you (i.e., GSTRF better long-term potential than IRIDF) is, as they say, what makes a market and is the power of SI at its finest. Why so melodramatic?

Pretty weak Jack. If you can not see the value in alternate viewpoints and lively debate, you are falling into the same pattern all too many of these threads have. The last thing we need is another "long live the King" thread full of self-serving morons. The cult threads are worthless.

We are each only as good as the sum of our posts and you have maintained a high level throughout. You have shown yourself to be a level headed contributor and a valued member who actually has something to offer. Dont run off because someone has stepped on your toes. Come on back and have some fun!

I may be biased, but I count you within the top 10% merely because you have the guts to post as person with a name.

Jeff Vayda

P.S. Does this indicate a bottom for Iridium? (ggg)

Jack, I hope you reconsider. I think the varying views on both the I* and G* boards are valuable and I don't see the stong win/lose sentiment that was once present. Granted, the G* camp feels its business plan is superior and that the bent pipe/cdma approach has advantages over the Iridium's tdma based sat switching system. Those are opinions, not to be taken personally. Iridium supporters feel the company has out performed Globalstar in reaching all its milestones thus far and it certainly has. However, I think everyone feels there is a vast market, room for all, and that both will succeed. Same with ICO. If we are wrong on that, we are all screwed. I agree that if Iridium fails (which I don't believe is an option) Globalstar will be in trouble too. I think the discussion over the past several weeks on these boards has been enlightening and stimulating without personal attacks. We had that last spring when Chinagate erupted and the board handled it quite well by forcing those who wanted to argue politics to go elsewhere and they did. Stick around Jack. You have made a valuable contribution and I want it to continue!

Dear Jack,
I've been observing this thread for a couple weeks now and of all the contributors to the thread I have gained the greatest insight into this company from your posts. I regret reading of your decision not to continue to post here. Two years ago when I first learned about I*s plan to use TDMA rather than CDMA I thought it was a dumb decision. I still do, from the viewpoint of wanting data services, but what Iridium has going for it is rock solid financial backing and first-to-market advantage. I suprised myself when I read a couple research reports, got interested enough to follow this thread, did DD
and voila, I now own a piece of this company. The rollout has been slower than many would like, but I have a long memory of lots of vaporware that eventually became a profitable reality.
Jack - I hope you will relent for at least one more post. There was an article on CBS Marketwatch today which quoted Jim Jubak of the MSN Moneycenter. moneycentral.msn.com

It's my contention from what I've seen of your posts and other sources that the rates quoted by Jubak could not have been accurate because the system was still in beta until 01/15/99. Is this guy shilling or does he have his facts straight? Judging from the source, it seems this article has an agenda, and it's not to inform. Comments?

Best, Ray (observing human foibles 1000 days less than you!)
