A lot of buybacks are announced simply to shore up a sagging stock price with no intention actually buying back stock. If you look at the stats, a most buyback plans are either never acted upon or only partially completed. I'm beginning to think that YF falls into the never acted upon category. Still, you could argue that there are better uses for YF's cash right now. They need to do some acquisitions and they don't have their shares to use as currency anymore. Using more debt to do another acquisition (given that they're already buying EPIE on credit) would push interest costs higher. So, cash is the best option left.
