Yo_Dave....................This article was posted earlier on the thread and it gives a very concise explaination of why servers will not be using Rambus initially. There are cost diferences, very complex timing difficulties in multi processor configurations, bus widths differences (SDRAM PC100 @64 bits vs. RAMBUS @ 16 or 18 ECC bits). The single processor high-end PCs and WORKSTATIONS have no problems being able to use the current proposed chipset CAMINO, it is the multiprocessor servers that are the problem. I really do not believe there will be a "DELAY" as far as the initial CAMINO release, nor do I see the RAMBUS schedule slipping in the near future as far as was announced last year by INTEL.
