TG, Don't tell me you are going to turn into one of those uh-uh snowbirds. <G>

The Phone Phleet is moving slowly to the NE about 1/3 the way to the next port of call.

Tommy; RE:" the American Hotel "

>I can just see Steve & I in one of those windows in Amsterdam. Hanging at the American Hotel out front at a table with a bottle of gin & working on a doobie...

ah, memories (^_^)

>I've looked at property in the Lake Travis area. The hill country is beautiful !

you already know where to go, Tommy - best area in Texas IMHO. I've got this little moto-trailer, and haul the bikes up there to ride.

There's slip space around Corpus Christi and Galveston Bay; you could sail up the Intercoastal to alternate berth in FL.

There was a time when I wanted to live on a boat, too; but MadameGonzo loves to dig in that dirt, grow things ! When I was a teenager, (my GodFather was an old White Russian-American sea captain on Lykes Lines) I wanted to join the Merchant Marine as a ship's radio operator... go from place to place... sow those oats ! Then the war came, changed everything.

We children of the sixties are often looked upon as frivolous dilettantes, Tommy; but all I remember - amidst the purple haze - is that everything was so damn serious for one, so young.
