Herm,

I want to write a covered call against a call option. I believe that you use or used to use DLJ Direct, they won't let me do that. Was that your experience? I assume that if I just wanted to write the call I could write a naked call but would have to maintain margin, correct?

Thanks
Jim

Herm,
I need some advice on repair. Cost basis for Dell is $32. When it was $77 I sold a Feb 75 call.(10) Then I later sold another 10 May 85
I would like to keep the stock. How far out would you go to "almost" equalize the close of position with a new cc. Yes, I should have taken your advice and bought a "sideshow" call. But the damn stock moved so fast I kept thinking it had to correct. Thanks
