Most of the sharp technical traders got in when it fell below 44 1/2 yesterday.

Usually, I like slow declines. Gap downs like this usually reverse in a few days, provided the market is on an upswing.

The battle ground for COMS today is around $40 mark. So far bulls failed to surpass this mark: every time COMS trading above $39 7/8, the ask size shot ... Someone is unloading shares here.

Per Briefing,com: 09:29 ET 3Com Corp (COMS) 44 1/8: DLJ trims FY99 view from $1.38 to $1.36 and FY00 from $2.05 to $2.03, based on pricing concerns. COMS shares indicated 3 pts lower this morning.
