Except for the fact that most of the trimming was in the infrastructure division, the layoffs could have as easily been accomplished by decisions to terminate individual employees without an announcement. With the large number of hires in the last few years, certainly there were 450 employees who weren't working out as well as had been hoped. Business exigencies and the need to show that management was pro-active forced a more "public" demonstration.

That's funny Qcom was ranked number 47 of the best companies to work for in the united States. I guess the people there are real unhappy!

Who the hell are you and what do you know about how Qualcomm operates? First off it is QPE that has all of the temps, they are the manufacturer and most of the temps that I see that work there I wouldn't want to hire on permenantly. Second, just what do these temps think they are getting into? It is really clear that when you are a temp you work at the whim of the company, that is the deal. Thirdly don't bring your attitude onto this board and shit all over people, that is REALLY rude.
