Maybe so. But unless the Republicans get a real "smoking gun", public opinion ain't gonna change! Insignificant things like Vernon Jordan's story not exactly tallying with Lewinsky's narrative, just ain't gonna get them anywhere!

In this instance, it may be dubious to assert the "notoriously shallow and volatile" nature of public opinion. It's been remarkably constant at the 2/3 level for quite a while.
