Here is the location for a press release. OF course, it does not say anything as usual and tries to minimize the problem. EVERYBODY has problems at times, but this bunch has them every day and fails to fix them. Why would they leave this continue???? They must enjoy having a thread called "E-TRADE SUCKS". I bet they are proud of their service. msnbc.com The service appears to be crashed AGAIN at 2:20 pm Eastern.

MORE OUTRIGHT LIES FROM ETRASH'S DAVID MURRAY ...from CBS MarketWatch Last Update: 1:27 PM ET Feb 3, 1999 PALO ALTO, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- E-Trade on Wednesday confirmed that some of its 676,000 active customer accounts couldn't trade and that it expected to fix the problem by early afternoon. E-Trade (EGRP) representative David Murray told CBS.MarketWatch.com that its customers "have been unable to access the trading function on our Web site." He said it's the first time E-Trade has experienced the problem in its seven-year history and that the company's technical staff has been working to correct the problem. E-Trade shares fell 2 1/4 to 56 by midday on Wednesday. E-Trade posted a notice on its Web site requesting members make trades by calling in and placing orders through the company's service personnel. Murray said the problem started at about 11 a.m. Eastern time. "We expect to have it up within the next few minutes," he said at about 12:20 p.m. "They've been working feverishly on it."
